Too often, athletes compete to not lose rather than to win. Don't compete as though you're protecting something. It never works. If you lose, you will be disappointed, but you will be okay and nothing really bad will happen. Compete knowing that you really have nothing to lose and give it everything you’ve got.

If you become cautious, remind yourself, "Nothing to lose." Trust your preparation, stay aggressive, and keep pursuing your best performance.
