Disappointment vs. Regret

Before:

Understand the difference before practice begins. Disappointment comes from not getting the result you wanted. That’s just part of being an athlete. Regret comes from not giving it your all. Which is the worse emotion? Regret. You’ll get over disappointment pretty quickly. But regret can last forever.

During:

If things aren't going well, focus on not feeling regret after the competition. Keep giving your best effort so that, regardless of today's outcome, you can leave knowing you gave yourself every chance to succeed.
