Before you begin practice, identify what you're feeling. Positive or negative, excited, worried, anxious, or inspired, simply recognize your emotional state without judging it. Awareness of your emotions is the first step to ensuring that they help rather than hurt you.
During:
Check in with your emotions periodically during practice. If they are helping your performance, keep using them. If they aren't, identify a better emotion and deliberately shift toward emotions that better support your effort and focus.
