I recently received an email from George Steffey, a USST D team member and Stratton Mountain School alum, who is organizing a fundraising campaign to support rising USST athletes. I met George last fall at Copper and found him to be not only highly committed to his ski racing goals, but also a really good guy. So, I agreed to share his request for support on my social media. I hope you will open your wallets to support his and his teammates’ efforts to become the best racers in the world.

“I am emailing you today inquiring about a D Team fundraiser. We will soon be launching a fundraising campaign that entails selling shirts and sweatshirts through an online fundraising platform. The theme behind the shirts is the expression “Make American Slalom Great Again.” It is a comical play off of recent political events and is intended to focus on the idea of every American ski racer doing his or her job to strive for the mastery of ski racing fundamentals in order to make the American team the most dominant team on the World Cup tour.  Your support would be a massive boost to our fundraiser and it would be greatly appreciated.
