I’m honored to have recently been named the recipient of one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of applied sport psychology (not quite an Oscar or the Nobel Prize, but still pretty cool!).
The Association for Applied Sport Psychology (the largest professional organization in our field) has named me the Distinguished Applied Practitioner of 2024. This award is designated for applied sport psychology practitioners who demonstrate excellence and longevity in the field of sport psychology. The purpose is to recognize those individuals who are established and thriving within the field.
I am truly grateful to have both found my life’s passion that I have been able to express in my professional life (Mark Twain said, “Find something you love to do and you’ll never work a day in your life.”) and also to have been able to make a living to support my family and live a lifestyle that is consistent with my values, all while “living the dream.”
Thanks also to all who have supported me over the years. It’s been a long and wonderful journey of professional and personal challenge and growth. And I’m still going strong and a long way from being finished. The best is yet to come!
