Welcome to Dr. Jim Taylor’s blog

In my blog, I will comment on topics related to the primary areas of my Web site, including business, sports, and family. I will also share my ideas about areas? for which I have a passion, for example, American life, popular culture, entertainment, the media, and politics. Topical, thought provoking, and occasionally controversial, my blog takes aim at issues in the headlines and just off the radar screen that need a fresh and balanced perspective. The goals of my blog are twofold. First, to illuminate, educate, and perhaps even entertain with insights that go beyond the conventional wisdom. Second, to create a conversation with those who have an interest in sharing their ideas, in agreement and dissent, with me and my audience.

I welcome your thoughts. And let the conversation begin…

    Jim,

I am looking forward to hearing your perspectives and insights on individual and group development.

I am the athletic director and varsity boys soccer coaach at Whitfield School a private school in St. Louis with an enrollment of 300 students in the high school. I am also involved with coaching soccer and coach education outside of Whitfield within the state of Missouri.

In August along with two other coaches we developed a continual coach education orgainization – asetsoccer.com (check it out if you get a chance). I am especially interested in your continued insights into ‘fear of failure’ and how we can get young players (and parents) understand it is the process that counts not just the peerformance.

I have read quite a few books on team builidng and the mental side of developing individuals; I am continually interested in how to help people reach they potential in sports and beyond.

    -Thanks, Bill
